Our mission is to provide expert, relationship-based tutoring and academic coaching that helps students build confidence, deepen understanding, and connect meaningfully with what they’re learning. From elementary math to college-level writing.
These principles guide our vision towards a learning environment where each learner is supported and guided in a way that is best suited to their learning profile.
A system that measures students against their own development over time, not against averages.
Tools that reflect real learning — through projects, challenges, and documented process.
An assessment model designed to support human growth, not just academic performance.
Verbs Education was envisioned by Esther who comes from a STEM based, multicultural background. Shaneyah, having an extensive experience in the Literary world, has been instrumental in expanding the services to include the beauty of language and other humanities. These two educators, self-proclaimed autodidacts since childhood, bonded on their shared frustration with an educational system averse to adapting to the learner.
Together they have decades of combined experience in classrooms, tutoring rooms, and academic coaching roles. They’ve worked with students across public, private, and homeschool settings, and across ability levels, learning profiles, and life stages. Additionally, they have supported high-achieving students preparing for college, students navigating IEP and 504 plans, and students rediscovering their love of learning after years of frustration.
We are ready to break the mould if it doesn’t work.
Click “Book Your Free Session” to schedule a no-cost consultation with either Esther or Shaneyah. We’ll discuss your goals, recommend the best service for your needs, and schedule your free first session. If you decide to move forward, we’ll begin our onboarding process with the MindPrint Learning™ assessment, which helps us understand how your student learns best and guides us in creating a personalized learning plan.
We work with students in Grades 4–12, college-level learners, and returning adult students. Our programs are tailored to match the student’s stage, goals, and learning style.
We are happy to have a consultation with you and determine on a case by case basis if we will be a right fit.
All tutoring and courses are currently offered online only, using Zoom or Google Meet for live instruction. Pop-up in person events will be announced from time to time.
